I love a good love story and this one is precious! Brett and Mattea have known each other since they were born. Literally. Their moms were good friends and actually were some of the first to know when both of them got pregnant. They grew up as good friends and eventually began dating in high school.
There aren’t a lot of people who get to marry their childhood friend and high school sweetheart! They are surrounded by the people they grew up with and loving families and you could tell on their big day just how excited everyone was for them. I mean, the whole town of Clinton has watched them grow up and fall in love!
The wedding was held at The Cabin at Bellewoode in Clinton, which is a special place for Mattea and her family. She spent a lot of time there growing up and was baptized in the lake! She got ready with her bridesmaids at her aunt’s house, which was large, old, and beautiful! Then we headed out to the cabin where we stayed for the rest of the day. The weather was perfect, everything was absolutely gorgeous, the ceremony was sweet, and the party was fun! I don’t think they could have asked for anything better. It was hard to narrow down my favorites, so enjoy this blog post full of photos!
Mattea’s mom has been doing her hair since the day she was born. She’s had plenty of practice over the years so she did a beautiful job for the wedding!I love watching moms and sisters help the bride get ready! Always a special moment!Love this one! There were tears when her mom finished putting on her veil. Then her dad came in…and there were more tears! I love the photo below of Mattea hugging her Daddy.I’m pretty sure everyone in the room was in tears…including me! After Mattea was dressed, we headed over to the cabin. It definitely offered plenty of great places for shots!
Mattea…you’re stunning!Definitely a favorite of Mattea!!First Looks never get old! That exact moment when he turns around to see his bride will always be one of my favorite parts of the day!Love!! I could have shot under and through those trees all day1I’m pretty sure Brett (MY husband Brett, not groom Brett) was waving around a Kentucky flag around this time. He’s pretty good to have around for good laughter! The little twins weren’t too excited for picture time, so while they weren’t looking the big guys snuck up behind them so they could at least be in a few pics! Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!I just love all these colors! The guest parked near the entrance and were shuttled up the hill and dropped off right here in front of these doors. They signed the guest book and then walked along the trail of trees to the ceremony area by the water. The photo on the far left is from when Brett & Mattea were babies. I love their story! I always love a teary groom. It’s the SWEETEST thing! They’re MARRIED!After they finished the receiving line, we took a few pictures on the dock before headed into the reception. We saved water photos for after the ceremony when I knew we’d have some nice light and it was perfect!I’m so thankful when my clients trust me with something great! After the sun completely set, the trees were so pretty all lit up and I really wanted to take advantage of it! Brett & Mattea let me steal them out of the reception for just a few under the lights! I’m so glad we did!!Congrats you two! Thank you for letting me be a part of your amazing day! It was a fairytale!
