A St. Augustine Beach Wedding
I still remember the first time I met Memry. It was at Trail of Treats, a community event our church helps host every year for Halloween. She was helping guide people at the photo booth where I was photographing families. We introduced ourselves and I told her how I thought her name was so cool! Fast forward a year or more when she and Cody joined our small group. We began getting to know them on a more personal level and even spent time with them at a St. Louis Cardinals game (where Cody forgot our tickets at home, but that’s a story for another day!). We watched them go through the up’s and down’s of a college dating relationship and then got to watch as they began to realize this was a forever kind of thing. Then one night, I got a text with a big, sparkly ring pic and it was time to plan her wedding!
As they began planning for the big day, they realized they would much rather get married on the beach. They had visited St. Augustine earlier that year and fell in love with it. So, they knew that was the beach they wanted. When Memry asked if I was willing to travel to Florida, I gladly said yes! St. Augustine is BEAUTIFUL! The historic downtown is somewhere I could shoot every day. I’m so glad we carved out time for bride and groom portraits down there. Their beach ceremony was just as pretty, with bright blue skies and white sand…. ahhhh…it was just perfect! They even included all three of their dogs in the ceremony! Cody & Mem, thank you for trusting me with your most special day. We have enjoyed watching you two fall in love and can’t wait to see where God takes you next!
Their first look was the sweetest! Lots of smiles and happy tears!
Memry’s niece is adorable!
My favorite guests 😉
Cody’s baby face needed to be shared! Lol!
Unfortunatley, the wind at the beach was too strong for the lanterns. They got one lit but then instead of lifting into the air, it flew into the crowd of guests (literally some of them had to duck for the flaming lantern!) then it went into the dunes! Someone had to chase after it so the whole beach didn’t catch fire! It was an entertaining way to end the night!
