A California Crowne Plaza Hotel Wedding
We didn’t know each other when we became roommates in college. We came from the same town, but didn’t meet until it was time to move in to Murray Place #108. From watching Friends (a lot!) to late night dance parties in the living room, we made a lot of memories in that apartment. We even made friends with a lot of Asian international students, who hung out with us in that little apartment too. What I didn’t know was this would spark a friendship that would last a lifetime.
I graduated and left for Thailand and soon after Natalie graduated she moved to Taiwan. Her love for the Asian culture continued to grow and she made friends all over the world. After moving back to the states, Nat ended up in California teaching English. Every time she came back to Kentucky for Christmas break, we would see each other. She even made a point to meet our daughter Gracen at the mall while she was home! This past Christmas, she texted to ask if we could meet up for dinner…but this time, she had a special someone with her. She said she was pretty sure Jiader was the one and we had to meet him! We went to dinner together and Brett and I knew he was great from the start! A few weeks later, Jiader proposed and Nat was asking me to fly to California to shoot her wedding.
Jiader and Nat, I am so honored you chose me to photograph your special day. It meant the world to me to be a small part. We are praying for you as you start your journey together…and we’re totally jealous you’re in Hawaii right now!
You are beautiful, Nat!
They had a time of worship in the ceremony and the girls put the lyrics in their bouquets.
Once I arrived to Concord, I saw the views and knew we HAD to find a spot to take Jiader & Natalie for some photos! Brett and I drove around the day before and found this perfect spot nestled in a neighborhood!
We got to see Jiader’s goofy side once the party really started!
Natalie’s parents were celebrating their 39th anniversary that day! They won the anniversary dance and the DJ asked what it takes to last that long. Nat’s dad said, “Me.” Everyone, including the DJ, thought that was hilarious!
