One of the biggest tips I give to my couples when preparing for their engagement session is MAKE IT PERSONAL! This is your time! It’s a fun, relaxed, non-rushed, just-the-three-of-us shoot. Engagements are meant to capture your relationship, your personalities, and this season of life you’re in before marriage. So, why not incorporate some of your favorite things?! I always ask these questions:
What do you like to do together?
What are your hobbies?
Where do you spend your time?
What does she enjoy? What does he enjoy?
Do you love your occupation?
How did you meet?
Where did he propose?
All these things can help you think and get creative! Most people don’t want their photos to look like everyone else’s…so think outside of the box! Of course, the focus of these photos will be you two, but I find it easier to capture your personalities when you’re incorporating things that mean something to you, wether it’s props, locations, or outfits. You are automatically more comfortable in front of the camera.
So, if you’re preparing for an engagement session soon, think about how to tie in some personal touches. I’m always here to help and we’ll have fun doing it!
My daughter is getting married in the fall, we are looking for a photographer. Daundra Clark gave me your name, could you give me an idea of your fees and what they include? Thanks
