Perry & Kimberly

Sep 24 2020 Leave a Comment

Kim and I have been talking about her wedding for an estimated NINE years now. When I met her in our small group at church, it wasn’t long before she said, “one day you will shoot my wedding” and I happily agreed. We have celebrated many things together… the birth and adoption of my daughter, her realty business taking off like wildfire, her helping us buy our current home, and now…her marriage!

She wasn’t dating Perry long when she told me he was the one. I had never seen Kim so happy! He was an awesome match for her and it’s been fun to get to know him along the way! I got the text very shortly after he proposed and it was time to get planning! The past year didn’t go as smooth as they hoped. Kim’s dad had a horrible accident and was in the hospital in Florida for months and was on the edge of death. So many people covered him in prayer and after a scary few months, he came home walking and healthy! Due to that, Kim’s parent’s decided to park the RV in the driveway and buy a house in Murray. Little did we all know they’re new home would be the place Kim got married!

Then 2020 happened and things got wild. Perry and Kim decided to forgo the big wedding at a big venue and do a backyard wedding at her parent’s house. But late this summer when the virus numbers began increasing in our small town, they decided to do an immediate family only wedding. As the weekend approached, the weather wasn’t looking good. On they day of the wedding, they decided to move everything inside. While that sounds so disappointing, it turned out to be PERFECT. They got married in the living room with their immediate family and had a fancy dinner in the dining room, complete with the string lights and same decor that should have been outdoors. As the ceremony was happening, I couldn’t help but think to myself how sweet, intimate, and special it was. Not many bride’s can say they got married in their parent’s living room, and after the year that Kim’s family experienced, that makes it even more special.
  • Kim’s brother passed away several years ago so she pinned her grandmother’s broach to a piece of his shirt inside her dress.
  • The moment her mom found the piece of her brother’s shirt inside her dress.
  • They took a few mins to greet the guests that were watching on Zoom.
  • Their first date was at Tap 216 so we had to stop for a quick pic!
