It’s that time of year! Proposals happened over the holidays (hooray!) and brides are on the hunt for the perfect dress, venue, and photographer. This is the month I hear from the most brides, inquiring for information or already to book. So, since your in the planning stages, let me explain why I think engagement sessions are important and why ALL of my couples get one if they book with me!
1. I can get to know you!
I enjoy building friendships with my clients and I believe that an engagement session is the perfect way to start! During your session, I can get to know you as a couple; your personalities, the way you flirt and interact with one another, and the best poses for the two of you. My style aims to capture your relationship and your emotions. Engagement sessions are the time to do this, when we’re relaxed with no timeline. It allows me to show up on your wedding day as a friend who knows you rather than just a hired professional.
2. You can get to know me!
Your session is also a great time to get to know me and how I work! Your’e able to experience how I shoot and how I handle posing and lighting. You’ll feel more comfortable with me by the wedding day too!3. Become comfortable in front of the camera!
Even the best of models get the jitters sometimes being in front of the camera! It’s normal to feel a bit nervous to have your photos taken and that’s ok! I want the first time you’re in front of my camera to be in a relaxed environment with out the wedding day timeline. The more we shoot, the more you’ll relax and the two of you will walk away saying you had fun! It really is helpful for the wedding day! You will feel like such a pro on the big day because of the great practice you had during your engagement session!
4. Document this special time!
After the proposal you’re on cloud nine and planning the big day! It’s time of giddy-ness and fun so let’s document that time! Seasons in life change, and I strongly believe in capturing them before they go. Plus you have a beautiful ring to show off along with the love of your life! You can use engagement photos for Save The Dates, frames at the wedding, gifts for families, and of course filling up your home with gorgeous images.
